Fatal Fury on SNES is basically SNK's first shot at a fighting game—kinda rough around the edges compared to later stuff like King of Fighters, but you can see where it all started. You've got Terry Bogard with his red cap doing his signature Power Wave, Joe Higashi throwing tornado kicks, and Geese Howard being the smug final boss he always is.
The two-plane fighting system feels a little janky now (switching between foreground and background was cool in arcades but weird on a controller), but there's something charming about how simple it is. No crazy combos or super meters yet—just punch, kick, and try not to get wrecked by Billy Kane's obnoxious pole attacks.
It's more of a nostalgia trip than a must-play fighter these days, but hey, someone had to invent the "jump into the background to dodge" gimmick first.
