Farland Story on SNES is one of those RPGs that feels cozy and familiar, even if you've never played it before. You start off with a small party—knights, mages, the usual—but the battles actually make you think. Positioning matters, and if you just rush in, you'll get wrecked. The pixel art has that warm, 16-bit charm, especially in the towns where you pick up side quests and gear.
What I like is that it doesn’t drown you in lore right away. You get just enough to know there’s a kingdom in trouble, some ancient evil stirring, and boom—you’re off. The music’s simple but catchy, and the fights are quick enough that grinding doesn’t feel like a chore. It’s not the deepest RPG out there, but it’s got this earnest, old-school vibe that’s hard to resist. If you’ve got a soft spot for SNES-era strategy RPGs, this one’s worth a few hours of your time.
