About Fallen Angel
Fallen Angel is a side-scrolling beat 'em up game released in 1989 for the MS-DOS platform. Developed by Emerald Software Ltd. and published by Screen 7 Ltd., the game presents an arcade style experience from a side view perspective, focusing on hand-to-hand combat and progression through urban environments.
Players control the titular fallen angel, who is tasked with dismantling a drug distribution network. The primary objectives in each level are to locate a plane ticket for travel and to defeat the local ringleader. Gameplay involves navigating through a series of interconnected underground train stations and the trains themselves, populated by groups of armed thugs. Players can move freely between stations, clearing them of enemies in any order, as both key items and the level boss are found within this network.
Combat is performed using a repertoire of punches and kicks to engage adversaries. Players can occasionally pick up weapons found in the environment to aid in these confrontations. The structure allows for non-linear progression within a level, as the two main objectives can be completed independently before advancing to the next stage of the journey, which begins in the London underground.
