About Fifa International Soccer
FIFA International Soccer came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, developed by Extended Play Productions and published by EA Sports. It was one of the first soccer games to appear on the 16-bit console, arriving at a time when sports simulations were becoming more detailed. The game offered a straightforward take on the sport, focusing on international teams rather than club leagues.
You control a team of eleven players, passing and shooting to score goals against the opposing side. The main objective is to win matches, either in a friendly or by progressing through a tournament. Signature mechanics include the overhead perspective that scrolls to follow the ball, the through-pass for sending a teammate on a run, and the ability to slide tackle, though mistiming it often draws a foul. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty can be sharp, especially when the computer seizes on a defensive error.
