F1 Pole Position on SNES is one of those early racing games that nails the speed but makes you work for control. The second you hit the gas, the scenery blurs past—until you inevitably overshoot a turn and spin out. Tracks like Monaco feel brutal with those tight corners, but nailing a perfect lap is weirdly satisfying.
It’s not exactly a sim—more like arcade racing with a hint of realism. The AI drivers don’t mess around either; they’ll shove you into the barriers if you leave an opening. And yeah, the graphics are pixelated by today’s standards, but there’s something about the way the cars handle that still feels right.
If you grew up with this or just love retro racers, it’s a solid time capsule. Just don’t expect mercy from the hairpin turns.
