About Exhaust Heat (europe)
Exhaust Heat came out in 1992 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by Saurus. It was a Formula 1 racing game based on the 1992 season, known in North America as F1 ROC: Race Of Champions. This was a time when the SNES library was expanding with various sports and racing titles, offering more specialized simulations alongside its arcade-style competitors.
You control a single Formula 1 car from a third-person perspective, racing against a full grid on circuits modeled after real-world tracks. The main objective is to win races and ultimately the championship. Signature mechanics include managing your car's fuel and tire wear, which forces you to make strategic pit stops, and navigating the pack with a drafting system that lets you slipstream opponents for a speed boost. The pacing is methodical, demanding careful planning rather than pure speed, and the difficulty is unforgiving if you push the car too hard. It feels like a tense, calculated battle against both the track and your own machine's limitations.
