Exertainment Mountain Bike Rally came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed by Radical Entertainment. It was part of a small wave of fitness themed games on the console, trying to blend a workout with a racing game.
You control one of several cyclists, like a surfer or a ninja, racing on winding tracks. The main goal is to win a series of increasingly difficult races, from qualifiers all the way to a final championship. Key mechanics include avoiding objects thrown by spectators, which damage your bike and slow you down, and collecting repair bonuses scattered on the track to fix that damage and regain speed. You also gather energy bonuses to maintain your pedaling strength. The races demand constant attention, with a difficulty that escalates noticeably in the later stages.
