About Equinox (europe)
Equinox came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed by Software Creations. It was part of that wave of isometric games on the system, trying something a little different from the standard side scrollers.
You control a young hero named Shadax, navigating a series of interconnected dungeons screen by screen. Your main goal is to rescue a kidnapped girl from the clutches of the evil sorcerer Morbius. You explore these multi level towers, fighting monsters with a sword and later a bow, while searching for keys and special items to unlock new areas. The game is known for its challenging puzzles and precise platforming, where a mistimed jump can send you back to the start of a room. Progress feels deliberate, built on careful exploration and learning the layout of each floor. Playing it gives you a real sense of accomplishment when you finally figure out a difficult section.
