About Equinox (beta)
Equinox came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed by Software Creations. It was part of that wave of isometric games on the system, trying something a little different with perspective when so many others were sticking to side scrolling or top down views.
You control a young wizard named Shadax, navigating a series of multi level towers. Your main goal is to rescue a kidnapped girl by finding the six segments of the Staff of Demnos hidden throughout the dungeons. The game plays out screen by screen; you explore these twisting, trap filled rooms, using a sword for close combat and a bow for hitting switches or enemies from a distance. You also collect spells that help you solve environmental puzzles, like one that lets you walk through certain walls. The difficulty builds steadily, demanding careful observation and precise jumps. It feels like a deliberate, thoughtful challenge where every new room is a small test of your patience and skill.
