About Energy Breaker (japan)
Energy Breaker came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1996, published by Natsume. It was a late release for the SNES, a time when developers were still finding new ways to use the hardware. The game was developed by Neverland, and it features character designs by Yasuhiro Nightow, who is known for Trigun.
You control a party of characters, exploring the world screen by screen in an overhead view. Your main goal is to uncover the mystery behind a strange energy source. When you encounter enemies, the perspective shifts to an isometric grid for turn based tactical combat. You position your characters carefully, using swords, bows, and magic to target enemy weaknesses. The pacing is deliberate, with exploration and puzzle solving breaking up the frequent battles. Navigating the world and managing your party's abilities gives the game a thoughtful, engaging rhythm.
