Eek! The Cat on SNES is one of those weird, goofy licensed games that somehow works. You play as the accident-prone purple cat from the cartoon, bumbling through levels where you're supposed to help people—but Sharky the dog keeps showing up to ruin your day. The controls feel a little slippery at first (you are playing as a clumsy cat, after all), but once you get used to it, there's something oddly satisfying about bouncing off walls and collecting fish while avoiding Sharky's nonsense.
It's not the deepest platformer out there, but the animations are surprisingly expressive, and the levels have that early '90s Saturday morning cartoon energy. Just don't expect it to be too challenging—this one's more about the silly vibes than tight gameplay. I still hum the theme song sometimes.
