About Eek! The Cat (europe)
Eek! The Cat came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994, published by Ocean Software. It was part of that wave of mid-90s platformers based on cartoons, a familiar sight on the SNES at the time.
You control Eek, a well-meaning but clumsy purple cat. Your main goal is to perform good deeds for the other characters you meet. The gameplay moves screen by screen, and you spend a lot of time bouncing on your own large belly to attack enemies or reach higher platforms. You also have to constantly watch out for Sharky the bulldog, who chases you relentlessly through many of the stages. The levels are fairly linear, but the challenge comes from managing the constant threats while trying to complete your tasks. It feels like a chaotic scramble where your best intentions are always one misstep away from disaster.
