About Earthworm Jim 2 (europe)
Earthworm Jim 2 came out for the Super Nintendo in 1996, developed by Shiny Entertainment. It was part of that era when platformers were experimenting with more personality and bizarre settings, moving beyond the straightforward level designs of earlier games.
You control Jim, an earthworm in a powerful robotic suit, navigating a series of surreal and hazardous worlds. Your main goal is simply to survive these strange environments and defeat the evil Queen Pulsating, Bloated, Festering, Sweaty, Pus-filled, Malformed, Slug-for-a-Butt. You use Jim's blaster to fight off enemies, and his own worm body as a whip to swing across gaps or grab items. The game frequently shifts its own rules; one moment you're platforming, the next you're in a bubble-shooting mini-game or guiding a blind salamander through a dark cave.
