Dual Orb came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993 from I'Max Corp. It was one of many Japanese role playing games that appeared on the system, offering a traditional fantasy adventure during a time when the genre was becoming more established on consoles. The game did not have a wide release outside Japan, so many players discovered it through other means.

You control a young hero on a quest to gather the eight pieces of the Dual Orb to prevent a great evil from returning. Movement is screen by screen, with towns and dungeons to explore. Combat is turn based; you input commands for your party of characters, who can use swords, magic, and special skills. The dungeons are maze like and require you to find keys or solve simple puzzles to progress. The pacing is deliberate, and some of the random enemy encounters can feel frequent, making resource management important. Playing it feels like working through a solid, methodical challenge from that era.
