Drakkhen on SNES is one of those weird, janky RPGs that somehow sticks with you despite—or maybe because of—how baffling it is. You wander first-person through this eerie, low-poly world where the day/night cycle actually matters (good luck surviving nighttime early on), and then combat suddenly shifts to this awkward third-person view where your party awkwardly shuffles around. The manual barely explains anything, so you’ll spend half your time just figuring out what the heck you’re supposed to do.
It’s got this strange charm, though—the music’s oddly haunting, and there’s something about the way the dragons just… float there in the sky, watching you. Not for the faint of heart, but if you like old-school RPGs that don’t hold your hand, it’s a fascinating relic.
