About Dragon Quest V - Tenkuu No Hanayome (japan)
Dragon Quest V came out on the Super Nintendo in 1992, developed by Chunsoft. It was part of a wave of ambitious Japanese RPGs that defined the platform, building on the series' established style without radically changing its core.
You guide the hero from childhood into adulthood, traveling across continents and through dungeons. Your main goal is to find your missing father and, later, to save the world from an ancient evil. The game is known for its monster recruitment system, where defeated enemies can join your party and fight alongside you, and for its branching narrative where you choose a wife, which affects the story. Exploration happens screen by screen in towns and on the world map, with random turn-based battles against monsters.
