Dragon Ball Z - Ultime Menace is one of those early SNES fighting games that feels rough around the edges but still has that classic DBZ charm. You pick from a small roster of characters like Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo, then duke it out in these weirdly stiff but oddly satisfying battles. The sprites are chunky and the controls take some getting used to—expect a lot of awkwardly timed Kamehamehas at first.
It’s definitely not as polished as later DBZ fighters, but there’s something fun about how over-the-top the special moves look, even if half of them miss. The French version doesn’t change much gameplay-wise, though the text is, well, in French. If you’re nostalgic for 90s anime games, it’s a neat little time capsule.
