Dragon Ball Z: Super Butouden was my first taste of DBZ fighting games back in the day, and man, it still holds up. You jump right into the action with Goku, Vegeta, and the gang, pulling off Kamehamehas and Final Flashes that actually feel powerful—especially when you get into those intense beam struggles where you're mashing buttons like crazy to overpower the other guy.

The Story Mode covers everything from Piccolo Jr. to Cell, which was a big deal at the time since most games barely touched the Saiyan saga. And yeah, the stages are huge—you’ll see your little fighter icons on the radar drifting apart mid-battle, which was pretty wild for an SNES game. Tournament Mode lets you go head-to-head with up to eight players (if you had that many friends and controllers), and unlocking secret characters like Broly kept me coming back.

It never got a US release, which is a shame, but if you ever stumble across a copy, it’s a solid piece of Dragon Ball history. The sprite work still looks great, and those super moves never get old.
