About Dragon Ball Z - Hyper Dimension
Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension came out in 1996 for the Super Nintendo, developed by TOSE. It was one of the last major fighting games released for the system, arriving when the 16-bit era was winding down. You could only get it in Japan and Europe, which made it a bit of a special find for import players at the time.
You control characters from the series, like Goku and Vegeta, in one-on-one fights. The main goal is to win each match to progress through the story or a tournament bracket. The game has a few specific mechanics that stand out; you can charge your ki to unleash super moves, and there is a teleportation ability you can use to dodge attacks or close distance quickly. It is a fast-paced game, and the computer opponents can be quite challenging, especially later on. Landing a fully charged Kamehameha or a quick combo string feels very direct and satisfying.
