About Doomsday Warrior
Doomsday Warrior came out for the Super Nintendo in 1992, published by Renovation Products. It was part of that early wave of SNES games that tried to blend different genres, in this case side scrolling action with some light adventure elements. You see a lot of games from that period experimenting with structure, and this one fits right into that exploratory phase for the console.
You control a lone hero on a quest to defeat an ancient evil. The main objective is to explore a large world, screen by screen, fighting monsters and navigating dungeons to collect the scattered pieces of a powerful artifact. Your primary tools are a sword for close combat and a bow for attacking from a distance. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty can be steep, especially when dealing with enemy patterns and platforming sections.
