Irem released Dinosaurs - Dino City for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992. It was a time when side-scrolling action games were common, and this one stood out with its prehistoric setting. You don't see many games where you play as cavemen fighting dinosaurs.

You control one of four different cavemen, each with a unique weapon like a club or a boomerang. Your goal is to rescue kidnapped children from the dinosaurs by fighting through levels filled with enemies. The game uses a screen by screen exploration structure; you clear all the enemies on one screen to proceed to the next. You can also pick up and throw dinosaur eggs, which sometimes hatch into helpful baby dinosaurs that attack your foes. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, demanding quick reflexes to avoid hazards and enemies. It feels chaotic and frantic, a straightforward brawler that keeps you on your toes.
