Dino City is one of those weird, charming SNES platformers that never got as much love as it deserved. You play as Timmy (or Jamie in co-op), jumping through jungles and caves full of goofy-looking dinosaurs that somehow kidnapped your girlfriends—don’t think too hard about the plot. The levels are bright and chaotic, with rolling boulders, lava pits, and these weird pterodactyls that just won’t leave you alone.

The two-player mode is where it really shines, though. There’s something hilarious about watching your friend get knocked off-screen by a stegosaurus tail while you’re desperately trying to climb a vine. The controls take a minute to get used to—your jump feels a little floaty at first—but once it clicks, you’ll be bouncing off dino heads like a pro. It’s not the deepest game, but it’s got this janky, energetic vibe that makes it way more fun than it has any right to be.

If you dig old-school platformers with a side of ridiculousness, Dino City is worth dusting off the SNES for.
