About Dino City (europe)
Irem released Dino City for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992. It was a time when the platform was full of side-scrolling adventures, and this one fit right in with its prehistoric setting. You don't see many games from that developer on the SNES, so it always stood out a little on the shelf.
You control one of two kids, Tim or his friend Sue, who get sent back to the stone age. Your main goal is to fight through levels, rescue your captured friend, and find a way back home. The gameplay involves running and jumping across platforms, using a boomerang or a slingshot to take out dinosaurs and cavemen. You explore the world screen by screen, often needing to find keys to unlock doors and progress. The pacing is fairly quick, though some enemy placements can make certain sections tricky. It feels like a straightforward, energetic run-and-gun adventure from that era.
