About Dezaemon Sfc
Dezaemon SFC came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994, developed and published by Athena. It was a unique release for the SNES library, arriving at a time when most players were focused on polished, finished games rather than creation tools. This one was different; it was a game about making your own shoot 'em ups.
You spend most of your time in a construction menu, not controlling a ship. The main objective is to build a complete horizontal or vertical shooter from scratch. You place enemy spawn points, design their movement patterns, and set their health. You also create your own player ship, defining its speed, weapon types, and special attacks. The pacing is entirely your own, shifting between the slow, deliberate work of level design and the frantic testing of your creations. It feels like having a box of specialized parts and the freedom to build whatever you can imagine.
