Desert Strike on SNES is that classic helicopter shooter where you're dropped into a warzone with way too many things to blow up. It's a port of the Genesis version, but honestly, it holds up just fine—same tense missions, same "oh crap" moments when your fuel starts running low mid-battle.
You start off with this clunky but satisfying chopper, picking off tanks and rescuing hostages while trying not to get shot down. The desert maps feel huge for a 16-bit game, and there's something weirdly addictive about balancing ammo, fuel, and not crashing into a sand dune like an idiot. The SNES version keeps the gritty vibe, though the explosions look a little smoother here.
If you missed this one back in the day, it's still a solid pick for blowing off steam after work.
