About Dear Boys
I first played Dear Boys on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1994. It was published by KSS, a company that released a number of titles during that era of the SNES. The game fits right in with the kind of sports and action experiences that were common on the platform at the time, offering a straightforward take on its subject without a lot of the extra features you might see in later games.
In Dear Boys, you control a high school basketball team, managing your players and calling plays during matches. Your main objective is to lead your team through a tournament to become the national champions. The gameplay involves directing your players on the court, passing the ball, and taking shots. You can execute different types of passes and shots, and you need to pay attention to player stamina and positioning. The pacing is fairly quick, and the difficulty can be challenging, especially when facing stronger teams that require careful strategy to beat. It feels like a focused and sometimes demanding simulation of a basketball season.
