I first played Daze Before Christmas on the Super Nintendo back in 1994, a release from Sunsoft. It was a strange little title that came out during a time when the SNES library was full of platformers and action games, and this one definitely stood out with its holiday theme. You don't see many games trying to be a Christmas action platformer, so it always stuck in my memory from that era.

You control Santa Claus, and your goal is to deliver presents to children's homes while fighting off enemies like rats and evil toys. The game is structured screen by screen; you move from one fixed area to the next, jumping across platforms and using your sack of presents as your main weapon to stun or defeat foes. You also collect items like candy canes to restore health and search for keys to unlock doors, which gates your progress. The pacing is quite fast, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially with some tricky jumps and enemy placements. It feels chaotic and a bit rough around the edges, but there's a simple, frantic joy in bouncing on enemies and trying to manage the screen full of hazards.
