Darius Twin is one of those classic SNES shooters that just oozes style—giant robotic fish, neon coral reefs, and these trippy, screen-filling bosses that look like they crawled out of a cyberpunk aquarium. You pilot the Silver Hawk, dodging waves of enemies while the soundtrack pumps out these deep, bass-heavy synth tracks that somehow make blowing up mechanical sea creatures feel epic.

It’s not the hardest shmup out there, but the branching paths keep things interesting—you pick your route after each level, and some zones throw wild curveballs, like a sudden zero-gravity section or a boss that fills half the screen. The first time I fought the crab mech, I panicked so hard I almost dropped my controller. Definitely a solid pick if you’re into retro shooters with personality.
