Dai-4-ji Super Robot Taisen is one of those classic SNES mech strategy games where you get to throw giant robots at each other in turn-based battles. It's the fourth entry in the series, and if you're into Gundam, Mazinger, or any of those old-school anime mechs, this is basically a love letter to them.

The first thing you'll notice is the roster—tons of familiar faces (or, well, metal faces) from different series all crammed into one game. At first, I had no idea who to deploy because half the units looked cool, but after a few missions, you start figuring out which ones actually hit hard and which ones just look good exploding.

Battles play out on grid maps, and positioning matters way more than you'd think. Some units are tanks that can soak up damage, while others are glass cannons that need backup. The sprite work is surprisingly detailed for an SNES game, especially when the robots pull off their flashy special attacks.

Fair warning: It's Japanese-only, so if you don't know the language, you'll be relying on menus and attack animations to guess what's happening. Still, if you're a mech fan, it's worth the hassle.
