About Cool Spot (japan)
Cool Spot came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed by Virgin Games. It was one of those games from the era where a lot of licensed titles were trying to capture the platformer magic, and this one had you playing as the actual 7 Up mascot.
You control the red dot, Spot, moving through levels that are themed like a beach or a kitchen. Your main goal is to rescue your fellow Spots, who are trapped in glass bubbles. You move screen by screen, jumping on platforms and bouncing off objects like beach balls. Your attack is shooting small fizz bubbles to pop enemies and break certain barriers. The game also has you collecting the letters that spell "7 UP" in each stage. The pacing is quick, and some jumps require precise timing, making it a decent challenge. It feels like a solid, straightforward platformer from that time.
