About Cool Spot (beta)
Cool Spot came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, published by Virgin Interactive. It was one of those games from the era where companies tried turning their products into platforming heroes, and this one had you playing as the actual 7 Up dot.
You control Spot, a red dot with sunglasses and a lot of attitude, navigating through themed levels like a beach or a kitchen. Your main goal is to rescue your fellow Spots, who are trapped in glass bubbles. You move screen by screen, jumping on platforms and bouncing on bottle caps. Spot's main attack is firing fizz bubbles from his finger to pop enemies. The game requires precise jumps and careful timing, especially in later stages where the platforms get smaller and the enemies more numerous. It feels surprisingly responsive for a game based on a soda can.
