About Congos Caper
I first played Congo's Caper on the Super Nintendo back in 1992. It was published by Data East, a company that put out a lot of games during that era. On a system known for its bright colors and smooth scrolling, this one fit right in with the other platformers of the time.
You control a little guy named Congo, a boy who can transform into different animals. Your main goal is to rescue your girlfriend Titi, which means moving through levels screen by screen. The big feature is the transformations; you collect power-ups to turn into a monkey for better jumping or a tiger with a claw attack. You also find keys to unlock doors and fight a variety of enemies with your basic punch. The game moves at a steady pace, but some of the platforming can be tricky, demanding precise jumps. It feels like a straightforward adventure where your abilities keep changing.
