About Congo's Caper
Congo's Caper came out on the Super Nintendo in 1992, a Data East release that fit right in with the platformers of that era. It was a time when colorful, side scrolling adventures were common, and this game was part of that crowd.
You control a little caveman named Congo, running and jumping through levels to rescue his girlfriend. The main goal is straightforward: get to the end of each stage. A couple of things stand out. Congo can find power ups that let him throw boomerangs or transform into different animals, like a frog that can jump higher or a panther that runs faster. The levels are linear but filled with enemies and pits to navigate. The pacing is quick, and some sections can be surprisingly tough, demanding precise jumps. It feels like a straightforward, energetic challenge from start to finish.
