Clock Tower was a Japan only release for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by Human Entertainment. It arrived late in the SNES lifecycle, offering a different kind of experience from the platform's usual action or role playing games. This was a point and click survival horror title, a genre that was still finding its footing on consoles at the time.

You control Jennifer, a young woman exploring a vast mansion to uncover the fate of her missing friends. The main objective is simply to survive and escape the relentless pursuit of Scissorman, a deformed boy armed with giant shears. Gameplay unfolds screen by screen; you click a cursor to examine objects, pick up key items, and hide from your pursuer. There is no combat. Your only options are to run, find a place to conceal yourself, or use certain items to temporarily stun the enemy. The pacing is deliberately slow and tense, punctuated by sudden chases that make resource management and memorizing the mansion's layout critical. Playing it feels like being trapped in a stressful, interactive haunted house where a single wrong turn can end everything.
