About Clock Tower
Clock Tower arrived on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995, developed by Human Entertainment. It was a late release for the console, a point and click survival horror game that felt distinct from the platformers and RPGs dominating the system at the time. You play as Jennifer Simpson, a young woman exploring a mansion to uncover its mysteries.
You guide Jennifer through the mansion screen by screen, using a cursor to examine objects and pick up items. There is no combat; your main objective is to solve puzzles and evade the scissor wielding villain, Scissorman. The game relies on hiding under beds or in cabinets and solving environmental puzzles to progress. Its pacing is slow and deliberate, with a high difficulty level stemming from limited saves and instant death scenarios. Playing it feels like a tense game of cat and mouse where a single mistake can end everything.
