About Cliff Hanger
Cliff Hanger came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, a time when licensed games based on movies were common. Taito published it, and the game follows the plot of the 1993 animated film of the same name. It fits right in with other side-scrolling action platformers from that period on the SNES.
You control a member of a mountain rescue team, navigating a series of treacherous levels. Your main goal is to survive the environment and defeat terrorists who have disguised themselves as lost hikers. The gameplay involves running, jumping, and climbing across precarious platforms in a scenic mountain setting. A key mechanic is using the weapons you pick up from defeated enemies against the remaining ones. The pacing is fast, and the platforming can be quite difficult, demanding precise jumps. Playing it feels like a constant scramble up a dangerous slope.
