About Claymates (europe)
Claymates came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, published by Interplay Entertainment. It was part of that wave of platformers that tried something a little different with the character, moving beyond the usual running and jumping.
You control a ball of clay named Clayton, rolling and bouncing through levels to rescue your father. Your main goal is to navigate each screen based stage from start to finish. The signature mechanic is transforming into different animals; you find power ups that morph you into a mouse for squeezing into small spaces, a fish for swimming, or a panther for a faster dash. The game is structured around exploring these areas, often requiring you to find the right animal form to proceed.
