Clay Fighter: Tournament Edition came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, published by Interplay. It was part of that wave of fighting games on the system, trying to carve out its own space with a visual style that was different from everything else at the time.

You pick from a roster of fighters, each made of clay, and battle through a series of one-on-one matches. The main goal is to win the tournament by depleting your opponent's health bar before they deplete yours. The pacing is fairly quick, though the difficulty can spike unexpectedly against certain opponents.
