About Chavez Boxing 2
Chavez Boxing 2 came out in 1994 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, published by American Softworks. It was a Spanish language release aimed at the Mexican market, capitalizing on the popularity of the boxer Julio Cesar Chavez. This was a time when the SNES was still going strong in some regions, even as players elsewhere were moving to newer consoles.
You control Chavez from a view behind the boxer, throwing punches and moving around the ring. The main goal is to win your fights, but between matches you can train and upgrade your fighter's abilities. The game progresses through a series of bouts, and the training adds a layer of strategy to the straightforward boxing action. It can be a difficult climb, requiring you to manage your boxer's development carefully. Landing a clean combination and watching your opponent stagger back feels solid and responsive.
