About Champions World Class Soccer (japan)
Champions World Class Soccer came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, published by Acclaim. It was one of the many sports titles on the system, arriving at a time when developers were still figuring out how to translate the flow of a real match into a satisfying video game.
You control a team of eleven players, switching between them to pass, tackle, and shoot. The main goal is to outscore your opponent within the match time. A few things stand out: the through-pass button sends a teammate on a run into open space, the sliding tackle is a risky but effective way to win the ball, and you can put a noticeable curve on your shots. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the computer provides a decent challenge, especially on higher difficulty settings. It feels responsive and direct, letting you focus on building attacks rather than fighting the controls.
