About Castlevania 5
Castlevania V, released in 1991 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System by Konami, arrived early in the console's life. It was part of that first wave of SNES games that showed what the hardware could do, building on the foundation of its NES predecessors.
You control Simon Belmont, a vampire hunter armed with a whip, as you travel through Dracula's castle. Your goal is to defeat Dracula himself, which means fighting through six distinct stages filled with monsters and traps. The game is built on screen by screen exploration; you clear one area of enemies before moving to the next. You use sub weapons like axes and holy water, found by breaking candles, to manage the often relentless enemy patterns.
