Carrier Aces (Japan) is one of those SNES flight sims that actually makes you feel like you're wrestling with a real WWII fighter plane—not just holding down a button and watching explosions. The controls take a second to get used to, but once you do, there's something satisfying about banking hard to avoid flak or lining up a perfect torpedo run on an enemy carrier.

You start off picking between American or Japanese forces, and the missions actually feel different depending on which side you choose—the Zero handles like a feather compared to the heavier American planes. The pixel art holds up surprisingly well, especially when you're diving through clouds with tracers zipping past your cockpit. Just don't expect arcade action—this one's all about patience and positioning.

If you ever wanted to know what it felt like to be a naval pilot in the Pacific, minus the actual danger, this is about as close as the SNES gets.
