Carrier Aces is one of those SNES flight sims that feels surprisingly deep for a 16-bit game. You're thrown right into the cockpit of a WW2 fighter, scrambling off an aircraft carrier while enemy planes swarm in. The controls take a minute to get used to—rolling feels a little stiff at first—but once you get the hang of it, dogfights actually feel tense. The pixel-art clouds and ocean look great when you're diving through flak bursts.

What I like is how it mixes arcade action with just enough realism—you've got fuel limits and ammo counts, but it doesn't punish you for not being a flight stick pro. The carrier landings? Still terrifying every time. If you ever played Pilotwings and wished it had more machine guns, this is your jam.
