You control one of four Avengers: Captain America, Iron Man, Vision, or Hawkeye. Your goal is to fight through side scrolling stages, punching and shooting robots and supervillains to stop Red Skull. The game mixes standard street brawling with screen by screen exploration; you clear all enemies in one area before the screen scrolls to the next. Each character has a distinct projectile, like Captain America's shield or Hawkeye's arrows, which you need to manage carefully against flying foes. The pacing is fast, but the difficulty can be unforgiving, with cheap hits from off screen enemies. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes frustrating arcade brawl that relies heavily on cooperative play to be enjoyable.
