About Captain America And The Avengers (europe)
Captain America and the Avengers came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, published by Data East. It was part of that wave of arcade-style brawlers that felt right at home on the console, letting you bring the comic book action to your living room without needing a pocketful of quarters.
You pick from one of four heroes: Captain America, Iron Man, Vision, or Hawkeye. Your goal is to fight through waves of enemies across different stages to stop the Red Skull. The game plays out screen by screen; you clear all the foes in one area before you can move to the next. You have a standard attack and a special screen clearing move that costs a bit of health, which makes you think twice before using it. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, especially when you get swarmed. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes punishing, scramble to punch and blast your way to the end.
