Bust-M-Up, sometimes called a hack of Taito's Bust-a-Move, came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995. It was a time when the SNES was full of colorful puzzle games, and this one fit right in. Taito, the original developer, was known for arcade hits, and this felt like a home version of that style.

You control a small cannon at the bottom of the screen, aiming and firing colored bubbles upward. The main goal is to clear each screen of bubbles by matching three or more of the same color. The key mechanics involve aiming your shots carefully to create clusters; when you pop a group, any bubbles attached only from above fall away. You also have to think about the ceiling, which slowly descends to raise the pressure. The game starts simply but the stages get dense with bubbles, demanding precise ricochets and planning several moves ahead. It feels satisfying to set off a long chain reaction that clears half the screen in one shot.
