Bust-A-Move came out for the Super Nintendo in 1995, a Taito game that was part of the puzzle wave on the system. It was a time when you could find a lot of these thoughtful, screen-based games sitting right next to the platformers and RPGs.

You control a little dinosaur at the bottom of the screen who aims and fires colored bubbles upward. The goal is to clear the entire playfield by matching three or more bubbles of the same color. The key mechanics involve aiming your shots carefully and using the walls for bank shots to reach tricky clusters; if you pop a group, any bubbles hanging below it will fall away. The game starts gently but the pace quickens as the ceiling slowly descends each time you fire, adding a real pressure to plan your moves. It feels satisfying to set off a long chain reaction and watch half the screen disappear at once.
