Bronkie the Bronchiasaurus is one of those weirdly charming SNES games where you play as a tiny green dino with asthma—yeah, really. The whole thing feels like a 90s after-school special, but with more jumping and wheezing. Some jerk T-Rex stole the air purifier (because of course he did), so now you're hopping across platforms, dodging cigarette smoke and pollen clouds while Bronkie gasps for breath. It's equal parts ridiculous and kinda tense when your inhaler meter runs low.
Honestly, the controls are a little stiff, but the whole "asthmatic dinosaur" gimmick makes it weirdly memorable. You'll find inhalers hidden around, and if you take too long between puffs, Bronkie starts moving in slow motion like he just ran a marathon. Not gonna lie, it's a bizarre concept, but it works. The game actually came with a health pamphlet about asthma awareness back in the day—definitely a first for platformers.
If you're into obscure SNES games with personality, this one's worth a look just for how strangely earnest it is.
