Brandish 2 - The Planet Buster is one of those weird, punishing dungeon crawlers that somehow gets its hooks into you. The first thing you’ll notice is the perspective—your character moves in this odd, rotating 3D space that takes a minute to get used to. But once it clicks, you’re crawling through dark, trap-filled corridors, swinging swords at floating eyeballs and praying you don’t step on another spike pit.

It’s not just mindless hacking, though. You’ve got to manage your gear, watch your stamina, and actually think before charging into fights. The translation patch makes the story way more readable, and there’s this eerie, almost lonely vibe to the dungeons that sticks with you. Definitely not for everyone, but if you like old-school RPGs that don’t hold your hand, this one’s a hidden SNES gem.
