Brandish 2 on SNES is one of those dungeon crawlers that feels like it wants to mess with you—in a good way. You play as Ares, some poor guy who wakes up in a labyrinth with no memory, just a sword and a whole lot of monsters between him and the truth. The twist? The entire dungeon rotates when you turn, so you’re constantly reorienting yourself. Took me way too long to stop walking into walls.
It’s got that classic Falcom charm—moody music, weird traps, and enemies that hit way harder than you expect. The story’s darker than the first game, with this looming "Planet Buster" threat, but honestly, half the time I was just trying to survive the next floor. Pro tip: hoard healing items. You’ll need them.
If you like old-school RPGs that don’t hold your hand, this one’s a gem. Just don’t throw your controller when the bats swarm you for the tenth time.
