About Brainies, The
The Brainies came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, published by Titus Interactive. It was one of those early SNES titles that explored different genres, a puzzle game that didn't rely on the flashy graphics or action other games were pushing at the time.
You control a small, round creature through a series of single-screen rooms. Your main goal is simply to find the exit in each level, but the challenge comes from navigating the environment. You can push certain blocks to create paths or trigger switches, and you have to avoid or outsmart enemies since you can't attack them directly. The game progresses screen by screen, and the puzzles get progressively more complex, demanding careful planning with each move. It feels like a slow, methodical test of your spatial reasoning as you work through each compact challenge.
